Absorbent medical cotton wool under the Akpamyk brand, in flat 100 g and 200 g packs, made from 100% Turkmen cotton at the Ashgabat medical wadding and cosmetic cotton factory.

This is the plant’s volume product. It is rated at 4,200 tonnes of medical cotton a year, drawn from up to 4,800 tonnes of purified fibrous waste collected from the spinning mills of the Ministry of Textile Industry. Short fibre that cannot be spun is cleaned, bleached and re-lapped into wadding — the standard route to absorbent cotton, run here on domestic feedstock rather than imported fibre.

One thing to settle before you plan a shipment. Packs carry a Turkmen technical standard number and Turkmenstandartlary certification, but that is not the same as European Pharmacopoeia or USP absorbent cotton compliance, and it is not a medical device registration. If your market requires either, ask for the current certificates in writing. We will request them rather than assume they exist.

For clinics and dressing-pack assemblers the roll format is usually the better buy. Converters who want the fibre itself should look at bleached cotton. Full range on the producer page.
