Turkmenistan grows the cotton, spins the yarn, weaves the denim and cuts the garment inside its own borders. The Türkmenbaşy jeans complex — GAP-Türkmen CJSC, operating since 1996 on the Ashgabat–Türkmenbaşy road — runs denim weaving and garment making on one site under the Ministry of Textile Industry. For a buyer that means a single origin for the whole chain and no third-country fabric to declare.
