Turkmenabat Chemical Plant named after S.A. Niyazov

Turkmenistan's only phosphate fertiliser producer, operating since 1960. Sulphuric acid was the first line commissioned; simple superphosphate followed in 1961 at 247,000 tonnes a year, later joined by ammophos and ammonium phosphate.
