  • FDY (fully drawn yarn), undyed, pneumatically interlaced multifilament
  • Counts GPY-450 to GPY-4000, that is 450 to 4000 denier or 50 to 444 tex
  • Tenacity 6.4 to 7.0 g/den across the range, peaking at GPY-900 and GPY-1000
  • Breaking load per thread 2.9 kg at GPY-450 rising to 25.6 kg at GPY-4000
  • Elongation 20 ± 5 % throughout
  • Count tolerance ± 5 %, breaking load tolerance ± 0.5 g/den
  • Raw material: granulated polypropylene produced in Turkmenistan, with a light-stabilising concentrate added during spinning

Properties

  • Lowest specific gravity of any commercial fibre, so a sling or rope of equal strength weighs less
  • Does not absorb water, oil or other liquids, and floats
  • Neutral to acids, alkalis and other aggressive media
  • Light-stabilised, and resistant to sudden temperature change
  • Not colonised by micro-organisms

Applications

Sewing thread for woven polypropylene sacks and FIBC big bags, conveyor belts, slings and lifting belts, packing tape, cord and rope, and heavy webbing for the garment and industrial trades.

Loading and delivery

EXW Ashgabat. Yarn is wound on bobbins and shipped on pallets. The producer exports to Turkey, Southeast Asia, Europe and the CIS.
