Byaz and calico
Byaz and calico (mitkal) are the same plain-weave greige family. Byaz is the heavier, narrower grade woven to a fixed 90 cm width; calico is lighter, around 100 g/m², and woven to order in wider widths. Buyers in the region ask for the two by name, so both are listed here.
Applications
Bed linen, linings, workwear and general making up after dyeing or printing.
